How do i transfer live account on xbox 360 to another one?

I bought an xbox 360 elite and have had error E 74 pop up constantly a couple of days after i bought it, and i am exchanging it for a new one. How do i transfer my xbox live account from my old xbox 360 to the new one?

1. take the hard drive out and use it with the new one is the only way
2. You Go onto Xbox Live Dashboard Go to Recover Account Enter Your Information and There you Go, Happy gaming
3. Put your old hard drive on the one that you get. I recently had to do that, so I can keep my saved games and music.
